A special trust fund has been set up to help an area family touched by tragedy.

After a car crash that killed a Cranbrook dad and sent his wife to a Calgary hospital, relatives and friends are offering help.

Fernie resident Janice Brulotte is the aunt of Breanna Schleppe, who is in an induced coma after a crash that killed her husband, Michael.

Brulotte has helped set up a trust fund for the family, open to donations from the public.

She says the couple, who were high school sweet hearts at Fernie Secondary School before they moved to Cranbrook for work, "loved each other like you wouldn't believe."

Their three-year-old daughter, Morgan, was also in the crash. Morgan suffered a broken collar bone and is being looked after by her grandmother.

Donations for the fund benefiting Breanna and Morgan can be made at any TD Canada Trust bank. The account number for the fund is 6276612, branch # 9083.
